How Long?
Experience shows that one year of monthly meetings with the Director of Vocations is the minimum any man needs before coming to a mature decision on whether to apply to join the novitiate or not. Typically, then, a minimum period of 18 months will pass between initial contact and beginning the novitiate itself (on 14th September) and will include at least a dozen meetings with the Director of Vocations and at least one weekend live-in visit with a Dominican community. The latter is arranged by the Director of Vocations.
