The Director of Vocations will respond promptly to an initial enquiry (by email, etc.) and will offer to send reading materials if the enquirer would appreciate some and also arrange to meet the enquirer at a time and place convenient to him. If, after one or two initial meetings, both the Director of Vocations and the man expressing an interest in the Order are agreeable, the Director arranges to accompany the enquirer in reflecting upon his vocation and even more generally upon his life as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Topics that they discuss and tease out together are prayer life, faith, importance of family and friends, religious life, ministry and priesthood, what is motivating them to consider the Dominican way of life, and so on.
